Well, look who decided to crawl out of his Delaware basement for a quick 10-minute chat with the New York Times. You know those moments when the timing is so perfectly bad it almost seems intentional? Biden really has a gift for bad timing.

The Setup: Just as his former aides are getting dragged before Congress like reluctant witnesses at a family intervention, Joe Biden suddenly found his voice to make some very specific claims about his pardon process.

But before we dive into the weeds, let's examine exactly what Biden said versus what the Times chose to report. Because the devil, as they say, is in the details.

The Language Game: What Biden Said vs. What the Times Reported

The article starts of “interesting” from the get go. The Times reports:

"In an interview with The New York Times, Mr. Biden said that he had orally granted all the pardons and commutations issued at the end of his term, calling President Trump and other Republicans 'liars' for claiming his aides had used an autopen to do so without his authorization."
